I Wish They Made these Characters As Play Arts Kai Action Figures (Part 2)

Whoa! It took me a year to make a Part 2 of this wish list, sorry about that. I was just busy with life and work.

Square-Enix have a knack of not completing their Play Arts Kai set from their different titles. They will make the first batch of 1 or 3 characters from one title (e.g. Lightning Returns: FFXII or Final Fantasy XII respectively) to be made as Play Arts Kai action figures. If the title is not popular enough or the first batch of figures didn't sell well, they will discontinue that set.

Other reasons are:
- Action figure production is costly especially if they're going to make new molds for the figures. So they're on a tight budget to make new toys like PAKs.
- Some characters are not popular enough to be made as action figures, because they will probably not sell well enough.

Well anyway that's only my gut opinion. I don't know anything about sales and marketing. So... time to list out the characters I wish SQEX will make as Play Arts Kai action figures. I will focus first on SQEX's main titles: Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, etc.

And I can go nuts on the accessories wish on the figures on the list too.

LOCKE COLE (DISSIDIA / FINAL FANTASY VI)

He's the first actual party member that Terra met after the Esper incident in the beginning of Final Fantasy VI. He's a thief that prefers to be called a treasure hunter. He's Locke Cole. Why did I put him on the list? Because he's awesome and he appeared in Dissidia NT. He is part of the wave two of the Dissidia Play Arts Kai set that I wish SQEX would make. He doesn't have much history of being made as a figure. If he's going to be made, I wish his set of accessories include: two daggers, a Gil (coin) pouch and a Phoenix Magicite. For interchangeables: two gripping hands and a couple of style pose hands.

RINOA HEARTILLY (DISSIDIA / FINAL FANTASY VIII)

Rinoa Heartilly is Squall's love interest in Final Fantasy VIII. She also appeared in Dissidia NT. I put her on the list because Squall needs some sunshine on his gloomy parade. She have a classic Play Arts figure which got really few accessories. I wish her Play Arts Kai figure have her Blaster Edge, Angelo (articulated figure), unarticulated deploy-mode Angelo (Blaster Edge ammo version) and another Blaster Edge where you can put Angelo (ammo version) on. She will also have her extra hands especially her pointing finger hand. For the heck of it, I wish she will also have her Angelic Wings. She will be part of wave two of Dissidia NT PAK figures.

ACE (DISSIDIA  / FINAL FANTASY TYPE-0)

Completing the second wave of Dissidia PAK action figures is Ace from Final Fantasy Type-0. Huh, I just listed three Dissidia NT DLC characters that I wish to be made as PAK figures. Anyway, Ace have his Trading Arts Kai Mini figure. His set of accessories is mostly going to be cards with lots of variations. He will have three floating cards, set of cards circling around him, and yes he will be holding a card(s) on both of his hands. His cape can be made with molded plastic or cloth.

Y'STHOLA RHUL (FINAL FANTASY XIV)

Now let's move on to Final Fantasy XIV. First is a Miqo'te named, Y'shtola. She have many attires to choose from, like the original one where she wears white clothes or the black dress she's wearing in the expansion, Shadowbringers. I will choose the Shadowbringers version to be made as a PAK figure because it looks awesome. I know, it will limit some articulations in the figure but hey the black dress looks good on her. Her Bring Arts figure is also her Shadowbringers version. Her accessories will include her staff and some spell effects. She will have a total of eight extra hands.

THANCRED WATERS (FINAL FANTASY XIV)

Thancred is just like Locke, personality wise and looks, in the earlier parts of Final Fantasy XIV. Like Y'sthola he changed his looks and the way he fight in the expansions. His Shadowbringers Gunbreaker version in my opinion is his best look when it comes to design and weaponry. Now for his accessories. For weapons, he will have his relic weapon, Lionheart (Gunblade). He will not have any other weapons and equipment so the Gunblade must have moveable parts. For interchangeables, he must have at least two faceplates/headsculpts and a total of eight extra hands.

LYSE HEXT (FINAL FANTASY XIV)

It's a struggle when I'm choosing Yda or Lyse Hext to be made as Final Fantasy XIV PAK figures. In the end I chose Lyse Hext, because she stopped pretending to be Yda (her older sister) in Stormblood expansion and she's cute. Now, she got two attires in Stormblood: her red adventurer outfit and her more popular "dancer-monk" outfit seen in the trailers. I like both but for the sake of articulations this time, I chose the adventurer outfit (see image above). Her accessories will be monk/brawler/fighter/martial artist based, so mostly extra hands. She will have palm hands, "kamehameha" hands, couple of fists and martial arts styled hands. I also want her to have interchangeable faces: normal and serious faces.

ZENOS YAE GALVUS (FINAL FANTASY XIV)

While the earlier villain of Final Fantasy XIV, Nael van Darnus, looks really cool with his armored look. Zenos yae Galvus is a real antagonist/nemesis in the game. He even represents the Chaos side in Dissidia NT by being a warrior of Spiritus, plus he looks cooler. I bet his PAK figure is going to be bulky and heavy. When I saw his static figure, it looks awesome and I said to myself: "If this guy is going to have a PAK figure, I will buy it". Sadly that didn't happen. Now if he got a PAK figure. He will have his three katanas and his huge, bulky triple katana sheath that looks like a revolver chamber. For interchangeables, he will have two headsculpts: wearing his helmet and just his head with his long golden hair. He will have a total of eight extra hands.

WEISS (FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE)

Weiss, the Immaculate, is the main antagonist of Dirge of Cerberus which I thought where he will be included in as a PAK figure along with Vincent but that didn't happen. His latest appearance is as a boss in the Intergrade mini expansion of Final Fantasy VII Remake.  And the protagonists of that expansion: Yuffie and Sonon got their PAK figures, made me hope for a Weiss figure. But that again didn't happen. But if it did happen he will have the biggest spiky hair in the whole roster of PAK figures. I prefer his Intergrade look but it's also OK to make him shirtless. His accessories will include his dual Gunblades. He will also have a couple of facesculpts: normal and grinning shown in the image above. He will have a total of eight extra hands.

NERO (FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE)

It's not complete if Weiss is alone without his bro, Nero, the Sable. He is also an antagonist in Dirge of Cerberus and he re-appeared in Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade too. It's possible to make him a PAK action figure because he is kinda part of the inspiration (directly or indirectly) on Tetsuya Nomura's version of Batman, because of his weird wings. If he's being made as a PAK figure, he will not have arm articulation because he got that straight jacket bondage fetish going on. Yeah he's really creepy, but cool when it comes to being an action figure. He will not have any equipment accessory, but he will have his wings that will also have some interchangeable hands. I also want him to have those darkness effects.

TSENG (FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE)

Image source: Final Fantasy VII (facebook)

They made Rufus, Reno and Rude but why they didn't make a PAK figure of Tseng, the leader of the Turks in Final Fantasy VII? I know the guys with the names starting in R are popular, but come on! Tseng will make the Turks look even better because of his presence, even better if he comes with Elena as a two-figure PAK Deluxe (DX) set. But if he's made as a PAK figure, he will have his cellphone and his confidential files and paperwork (probably containing Zack's letters to Aerith and other Turk files). He will not have any extra faceplates because he keeps that stern and serious look on his face in the game. He will have six extra hands with a couple of extra hands for holding his cellphone and holding some files. For the extra mile, give him an interchangeable ponytailed hair.

That completes Part 2 of my characters that I wish will have their Play Arts Kai action figures. Sorry again that it took a long time to make this. Part 1 was posted in March 2022, that's more than a year! I hope Part 3 will not take a long time to be posted too. Anyway, I really hope we get to see this characters as action figures.

Cheers!
