[Toy Review] DC Collectibles Designer Series DC Bombshells Harley Quinn

Alright! I will be reviewing DC Bombshells Harley Quinn action figure from DC Collectibles. This is my first DC Collectible figure, so I'm excited to review it. DC Bombshells have 1940's or World War II style artwork and design of DC's heroes and villains (mostly females) by Ant Lucia.

PACKAGING

Front and back of the box.

The box is window-type with nice minimalist/modern design. The front shows the figure and its accessories, you can see Ant Lucia's artwork of Harley Quinn at the side. The back shows the four figures from this set.

Harley's out to play.
Packaging includes: Harley Quinn figure, mallet, pop gun, peace sign right hand, open left hand, right mallet grip hand, Left trigger hand, manual slip

THE FIGURE

As my first DC Collectible figure, this looks great. It makes a very good first impression. I like how Harley's designed and colored. The figure looks good on all sides.

Viewing Harley at four sides.
The presentation and build quality of this toy is great, it feels and looks like an import from Japan. I may be praising this toy, but I'm still skeptic with the rest of the DC Collectible action figures.

What a pretty looking face.
The face sculpt looks great. I like Harley's smile, but why not use the bigger and kinda crazy smile seen on the artwork. The face is well painted. It's kinda inaccurate to the artwork but I'm fine with it.

Harley's pigtail.
Harley's blonde hair have two pigtails both with red hues at the tip. The pigtails aren't articulated, they're just soft and flexible. Don't pull or twist the pigtail too much, it might get pulled off. Overall the hair is well sculpted, you can see the sculpted hair strands.

Goggles are non-removable.
She have a pair of goggles on her head, it looks good and painted nicely.

Harley's Bombshell attire.
Harley's wearing a pilot jacket. Underneath she's wearing a red/black bikini top. The paint looks good, the jacket have gold zippers, buttons and studs. The "garter" parts of the pockets, sleeve ends and jacket bottom are painted black

Wow, she's well decorated for a villain.
The jacket is really detailed with pins, badges and medals.

See those orange bits on the collar?
The white collar part of the jacket looks nice but there are orange spots around it like she ate some Cheetos or cheese puffs.

Now that makes the jacket even cooler.
The back of the jacket have a nice Jokers Wild paint decal. It looks cool, the jacket can now also pass as a biker jacket.

Arms looks great.
The arm parts of the jacket have wrinkles for detail. The red gloves looks good, but the paintjob is sloppy on the left glove. And if you look at the shoulder part, you can see the flesh tones underneath, it should have been painted brown.

Harley's Utility Belt.
She got Batman's utility belt, I guess she stole it while Batman's away and repainted it to match her clothes. The pouches have alternating red and black colors, while the main belt and buckle are bronze-like.

Stockings or long socks? I don't know...
Harley is wearing a pair of red and black stockings. Each stocking have the Harley Quinn logo.

Look! She's got a card!
The left leg have a Joker card slipped into the black legging. A very nice little detail but the card is not painted exactly at the card's sculpt.

Harley's got a small pair of feet BTW.
The brown pair of boots looks like a standard issue boots during WWII. The boots have nice paint applied, you can see the black shoelaces and outsoles painted nicely.

Threaded boots.
For more detail, the boots are threaded. No peg holes though in case you have an extra display base laying around.

ACCESSORIES

Harley have decent amount of accessories. She got a mallet and a pop gun. For extra interchangeable hands, she got four.

Harley's toys
That's a nice amount for its price. But if I want to add one, it would be an extra interchangeable head with her googles on. Other than that, I'm fine with the accessories included in the packaging.

This is a heavy mallet.
Harley picked up a barrel and put a stick on it to make it a mallet. The wood parts looks like real wood thanks to its sculpt and paint application. The mallet is pretty heavy, the gripping hand can't hold it properly.

Personalized pop gun.
The pop gun is just a simple flare gun with a cork on it. The paintjob is great the gun is metallic silver and the grip is painted brown.

Aww look a tiny Batman.
The pop gun also have a tiny Batman key ring attached on it, that's cute. What's cool is that the little Batman is painted really well (you can see the tiny details on the very tiny thing)

The extra hands.
There are two pairs of extra hands: gripping and trigger hand for the mallet and pop gun respectively and peace sign and open hands (for poses and gestures). It felt scary at first to pull the hands off the figure because their pegs and hinges are too small that it might snap if I use force.

Carrying the mallet.
I mentioned earlier the gripping hand can't hold the mallet really because of its weight. So it's better to have another hand holding the mallet head or its grip for support.

Look out! She's got a non-lethal pop gun!
The trigger hand holds the pop gun well. It got a nice grip, not too tight not too loose.

Seeing that face and pose, Harley doesn't look villainous.
The gesture hands are for cool pin-up poses. So get creative with the extra hands.

No display stand/base included on this toy which is a shame, but Harley can stand up properly without the aid of display stands.

ARTICULATIONS

A Salute
This Harley Quinn figure is highly articulated. It can pull some really awesome standing and dynamic poses.

Peace!
The head can fully rotate, look up and down a bit and tilt side to side.

It's a sure knockout if you got hit by that mallet.
The chest articulation felt really stiff, but it can twist, rotate and lean just fine.

No display stands used on this pose.
The lower ab crunch have a nice range of motion and looks really good when posed. No waist articulation though.

Holding both mallet and pop gun.
Both arms have the standard articulation but they move really well. They can fully rotate and raise to the side.

Pointing her pop gun.
Biceps can swivel and can fully rotate but they felt pretty loose but not really that loose.

This is going to be my Harley Quinn test pose.
The elbows are double-hinged and have a really nice range of motion, they can totally fold. The wrist can swivel and the hands are hinged.

She saw an incoming enemy.
Both legs can twist a bit. They can also raise forward and to the side really well because I think the legs have some type of hinge that lowers the legs a bit, giving more room for movement. She can sit down, kick very high and almost do a split.

I'll just call this a stealth pose. Just imagine she's leaning against the wall
The knees are double-hinged and they look really good when posed. Harley can do some crouching poses. Both feet cant point up and down really well, but the ankles have a weird pivot movement, it pivots with an "angle", it's difficult to make the feet level on the ground.

SCALING

I don't have any other DC Collectible figures in my collection, so I'll just compare DC Bombshells Harley to the Play Arts Kai Harley (B:AK) so that you can see their difference in scaling.

Small Harley, Big Harley.
As you can see DC Bombshells Harley measures around 7 inches while the PAK Harley (B:AK) is around 10 inches.

QUALITY ISSUES

There are no major issues on this one except for some tiny paint issues.

CONCLUSION

Well DC Bombshells Harley Quinn is a really good action figure. It looks cool, sexy and highly presentable. She already looks good on my display shelf even though she's still alone. This action figure got decent amount of accessories and fun to pose. This is my first DC Collectibles figure and I'm looking forward to complete this DC Bombshells series. If they're all good then I might pick up some more figures from DC Collectibles.

Harley's pin-up pose.
Cheers and Happy Collecting!
