So I Watched Avengers: Infinity War

I watched another MCU movie, the long awaited Avengers: Infinity War. I haven't read the comic book version but I know it involves Thanos and the Infinity Stones. Infinity War has been teased ever since the reveal of the Tesseract (Space Infinity Stone) from the first Captain America movie.

This is my quick first impression on this movie, so expect that I will unintentionally (or intentionally) miss some details about this movie.

The story is pretty direct: Thanos, the Mad Titan, is out to collect all Infinity Stones and the heroes need to stop him to save the lives of every people in the universe. There are lots of Marvel characters in this movie, I mean most of the MCU characters that are still alive are here, even Red Skull is in this movie. It's cool that they easily interact with each other without any long explanation of their backstories. If you know most of these characters especially if you read the comics, you can easily go and watch this movie without watching previous MCU movies. Still if you want to know the entire story of the MCU that leads to Infinity War, then I suggest that you watch all the movies starting from the first Iron Man movie.

The tone of this movie is pretty serious, but there are some humor and funny conversations to balance things. The movie ends in a cliffhanger so there will be an Infinity War Part 2.

By the way the movie doesn't show some of Thanos' motive to end a lot of lives in the universe. Still, Thanos is an awesome villain here. He looks more like a sad villain in this movie than the classic literal madman type in the comics. He's helmet-less and cape-less 98% of the movie. I wish Thanos didn't remove his helmet and cape. He looks more intimidating if he wears them.

The battles takes places on different locations and planets from outer space and the final battle is set on, of course, Earth. Every environment looks really awesome. The visual effects looks nice. I like Iron Man's new armor made from nanomachines. Spiderman also got a new Iron Spider armor which looks really cool.

I didn't notice the music much in this movie especially during fight scenes. But the most noticeable music that I heard is the Avengers theme and Black Panther's theme.

Overall it's a pretty awesome movie that abruptly ends, surprisingly. It's like it didn't end with a bang but with a whimper, in a good way. Still I recommend that you watch this movie. By the way, they put the end credits scene at the end of the credits so if you're going to watch this movie, wait till the after the credits to watch the bonus scene that teases the next MCU movie.

Cheers!
