[Toy Review] NISSAN SKYLINE GT-R (BNR32) - Tomica Premium 1/62 Scale Diecast Car

This is my first 1/62 scale diecast car as an adult. I got this Tomica Premium Nissan Skyline GT-R as a gift from my sister who had a vacation in Japan. It been a while since I got a small scale toy car. I can't even remember what my first diecast car is but I remember that the front hood and the left and right door can open. Most toy cars that I played with are borrowed from my cousins.

PACKAGING

Box front

This is a small box. I prefer this style of packaging than blister packs like those found in basic Hot Wheels diecast cars. Anyway in front, you see the Skyline's photo.

Box back

The back shows a lot of texts and logos. Except from the back (and bottom), all sides of the box shows photos of Skyline in different angles per side.

Packaging includes:

THE CAR

Yeah, I can see the premium-ness of this 1/62 scale diecast car.

Frontside

This tiny car looks great. The front looks great

Backside

The back part looks great. I always like the rear part of a car because of the cool tail light designs.

Left side

Both sides looks nice, but this car doesn't have side mirrors.

Right side

The wheels looks a bit small though.

Angled shot: eye level

Here's an angled shot. The Skyline is a long car and one of my favorite racing cars. I prefer this older R32 and the R34

Higher angled view: front and left side

The details and paintwork looks great. The paintjob has some sparkly effect. I don't know what its called in car paintjob terms but you can see it if you look closer to the paintjob of real cars.

High angled view: rear abd right side

Oh, I didn't notice that there's a gas tank lid on the right side of the car. And yeah I can see some more tiny details like door handles after seeing the photos that I've taken (my eyes are getting blurry... part of aging I guess.).

Front lights and turn signal lights

These are the front lights. Yeah it's premium with those front and turn signal lights with translucent plastic. This make it easier for the modders to add some LED light and make this car look even better.

Checking out the car's grill

Looking closre below the front lights, you can see the Skyline logo on the license plate mount and the front grill.

Tail lights

The backs shows the four tail circular tail lights. The GT-R logo is here too.

Rear spoiler

The spoiler looks stock but it makes the car cooler.

Wheels

The wheels looks nice and that's it. I like that the wheels rolls really well on surfaces.

Car's bottom

The bottom is detailed, that's nice.

THE FEATURES

Let's discuss this diecast Skyline features.

Car doors can open

The only thing that can move on this diecast car is the left and right doors. I don't know much about small scale diecast cars these days but I think this is a default. I was hoping for more moving parts because this is a premium car as Tomica says.

Car's interior

Thanks to the opening doors we can take a peek in the car's interior. The interior is detailed, You can see the driver and the passenger seat and also the backseat.

Car's dashboard and steering wheel

The dashboard looks nice too and there's a gear shifter in the interior too.

QUALITY ISSUES

This 1/62 scale Skyline car doesn't have any issues. Like I said earlier the wheels roll smoothly which is important to any diecast car toys, in my opinion.

CONCLUSION

Thanks to this Nissan Skyline GT-R 1/62 scale diecast car by Tomica Premium, it re-ignited my love for diecast cars and toys. Now I want to get diecast versions of my favorite cars, one of them is Subaru Imprezza WRX STI. Thanks to my sister for giving me this as a random gift from Japan. I never expected to have a very nice present because I rarely request anything from my siblings. I will gladly put this on my office desk at home.

Cheers and Happy Collecting!
