Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan)

Last week, the typhoon named Yolanda (Internationally named Haiyan) hit the Philippines, Visayas region carrying winds and gusts more powerful than Hurricane Katrina that hit the U.S..

Tacloban, Leyte is the one that took the point blank hit from the storm, destroying homes, buildings, infrastructure and cutting off any communications. The super typhoon injured and killed thousands of people. After the wrath of Yolanda, it left a chaotic, almost like post apocalyptic scene where dead bodies, cars and debris are scattered everywhere. The aftermath like I said is very chaotic that law and order is nowhere to be found. People are looting, giving in prostitution or doing untold things just to survive... basically it's Survival of the Fittest. The factor that makes surviving worse is the prison break that happened during the storm, I heard from the news that they're carrying firearms to kill and steal, some of them are even raping women.

The Philippine government, as well as the brave volunteers and people/organizations that gave donations from around the world is currently helping those who survived to get back on their feet by giving them medical treatment, food and water, clothing and transport so that they can reach their relatives in other places that doesn't critically hit by the storm. This put law and order back too. Even though it's a slow process because of crippled transportation or any obstacle that prevents the aid from coming to Tacloban fast, Good thing is that the aid and supplies is still arriving.

Let's pray for the lost lives and to those who survived this catastrophic storm.
