Time to go out of town again to thank God for the blessings we received so far this year. We went to Tagaytay again to attend mass. After that, we went to roam around. Out first stop is the famous Puzzle Mansion.
This is not my first time to go to the Puzzle Mansion, but it's my first time to drive there. I still remember the dreaded very steep uphill/downhill road to the Puzzle Mansion's entrance, and man! The that steep road killed some cars. Fortunately, I can handle really steep roads now.
The Puzzle Mansion is at the end of the steep road below. It's Sunday and there are few people here taking a tour around the place.
We went to the ticket booth to get our tickets. We are excited to go in. It's been years since I went here.
This place have a lot of completed jigsaw puzzles most of the puzzles are done solo by the owner of the place, the late Georgina Gil-Lacuna.
She is still the holder of the Guinness Record for the largest collection of jigsaw puzzles.
This is the most difficult jigsaw puzzle she finished solo, Diego Velasquez's Las Hilanderas. It took her 300 hours over 7 months to finish this puzzle.
If I remember correctly, the tour guide said that this is the second most difficult puzzle. I forgot the name of this piece.
The place also have 3D puzzles. Here are some of the 3D landmark puzzles she completed.
There are cityscapes puzzles too. Looks fun to piece these together.
Of course there are wooden 3D puzzles too, like these dinosaurs. There are automobiles too below the display table.
The first floor have the most puzzles displayed. So many to look at. My baby daughter enjoyed viewing the colorful puzzles.
The second floor have the largest jigsaw puzzles. This is the third largest. Looks difficult to piece together.
This is the 1st largest jigsaw puzzle that Georgina Gil-Lacuna finished. I forgot to take the photo of the 2nd largest puzzle. I saw her piecing that 2nd largest jigsaw puzzle on a very huge table years ago during our first visit there with my late father who also love jigsaw puzzles. Fortunately, before she pass away, we had a few fun chats with Mrs. Georgina, she's really chill and down to earth because of her first simple job as a seamstress that mostly made maternity dresses for pregnant women.
This is the largest jigsaw puzzle in Puzzle Mansion. it's 40,000 pieces and completed by Mrs. Georgina's children. This is the first puzzle finished by her children after her death to continue her legacy.
The 2nd floor is where you will find the souvenir shop. You can buy authentic jigsaw puzzles, shirts, mugs and novelty items here. You can also buy handmade maternity dresses here. The place really doesn't forget its owner's roots.
The Puzzle Mansion is also a bed and breakfast place. The new addition to the place is the swimming pool.
We're done looking at cool jigsaw puzzles, My family, especially my little baby, enjoyed looking at the fun colorful puzzles. Time to go to our next random stop in Tagaytay. As we leave, the place is getting packed with more visitors.
Cheers!
