Time to say goodbye to my Samsung S21 Ultra 5G...
I have my S21 Ultra for almost 5 years now and it's showing signs of age and the screen is failing. It got those what I call "Screen Lightsabers".
The display is broken with theses lines, which gave me headaches and eye strains while using the phone. Those lines makes texts hard to read and you can't enjoy watching videos and looking at photos. There are some parts that got issues, like the power button that have few presses left before falling off the phone's frame, slightly popped-off back panel and the main 108 megapixel camera having auto-focusing problems (I need to shake or tap the camera with my fingers to temporarily fix it).
I said to my wife that I just want to replace the screen and camera module so that I'm not going to buy a new phone and it's cheaper that way. She said, it's good to buy a new phone instead, because the other parts of my S21 Ultra's might fail soon too. So with hesitation and a heavy heart, I surrendered my phone to a Samsung Store branch to trade it with a new phone.
And my new phone is Samsung Galaxy S25 FE (Fan Edition), the cheapest model of the Galaxy S25 series. I don't have enough money to buy the Ultra version.
This new S25 FE is great and I'm not complaining. While it's more powerful than the S21 Ultra and got some features that I need for everyday use, it's hard to go back from the feature-rich Ultra versions with some exclusive apps like the Expert RAW for pro-grade photography. I'm used the S21 Ultra well, like "power-used" it. I used all it's known features for productivity, remote desktop, online meetings, photography, videography, media consumption, gaming, Samsung DeX, etc. I also drew, doodled and wrote notes using the S Pen (stylus) that I bought separately with a dedicated case to store the stylus. That's why I going to miss my S21 Ultra. I felt really sad letting it go, because it's one of the most beautifully designed phones out there and I enjoyed using that phone.
Cheers!
