Well here it is! I got some of the official photos of the new Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Play Arts Shin Vincent Valentine action figure. Some of the stuff I mentioned in a related previous post came true.
Yes, this new Play Arts Shin Vincent Valentine action figure looks great, this is a biased opinion by the way. He's my favorite character in FFVII.
So what's new on this action figure? Well I guess SQEX will use cloth material for capes. Still, the details looks the same. The size of the figure increased a bit, which I hope is just a common scale inconsistency. This is an 11 inch figure (Height = 286mm specifically) and it's a bit taller than the Sephiroth FFVII Remake PAK figure. I'm guessing that Play Arts is crossing the 1/6 scale area.
SQEX said that Play Arts Shin action figures will have a new hip joint and some new joints for smoother and wider range of motion. So they're fully ditching the ratcheted joints? Okay... Still I hope they improve their ugly elbow and knee joints, make them look better.
Another new to Play Arts Shin are the moving eyes. Yes, folks! They added eye movement on a action figure, which is great. This will be the default in Play Arts Shin, I suppose?
An expected disappointment is the lack of accessories. Vincent only comes with his handgun, a handheld gadget and a total of four extra hands.
Play Arts Shin also have a new display stand. The three jointed arm is the same as those found in the latest PAK figures. They also included a new straight arm. These two display base arms will have their dedicated clamp. The base itself is hexagonal and have a nameplate.
So what's the price of the new Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Play Arts Shin Vincent Valentine action figure? According to sources, its price ranges from Y20,617 to Y23,100 (approx. $138.00 to $155.00, Php8,100.00 to Php.9,100). That's a bit pricier than Play Arts Kai. They're really going to Hot Toys' pricing territory. The release date is around August 2025. So am I gonna get him? The answer is yes! He's my favorite character and I'm curious how his size compares to the older (I can't believe I'm calling Play Arts Kai old now) PAK action figures.
Cheers and Happy Collecting!
