Terra's packaging design is consistent with the other Dissidia PAK boxes with the front cover showing a large picture of Terra and the usual logos. The back shows more of Terra's poses.
Open the front cover to check out the figure and its accessories on the right hand side. On the left hand side, you can read some stuff about Terra and the game.

She got a nice stare. |
Her face is accurate to her in-game counterpart, but she have a neutral expression. Her hair is very decorated with beads and small jewelries.
|
Terra's ponytail |
The color of Terra's hair is blondish green and tied to a ponytail. I like how her hair is sculpted, you can see the hair-strands, but sometimes they look like noodles.
Shining a light behind Terra.
Like Lightning (Dissidia), Terra's hair is made of translucent plastic, which I very like. The light shines through the hair for kind of realistic effect.
|
Terra's hairtie |
Her head is highly decorated and the most noticeable one is her purple hair tie. It got gold "tassels" at the tips and have lots of colorful beads at the center.
|
Terra's tube dress |
Terra is wearing a skin tight tube dress that's red in color and have nicely printed floral patterns around it. The "collar" or "end" part of the tube is white. There are beads around her neck that's part of her cape. Terra have a light skin tone with almost no shadings applied.
|
The cape |
This is Terra's cape. From the top it's colored yellow and turns lavender to purple at the bottom. Lots of floral design around the cape and the bottom part of the cape have purple tassels. What I don't like about this cape are the two, very obvious, large ball hinges that makes the cape articulated. A cape with wired cloth material is much better.
|
Long red gloves |
Terra is wearing long red gloves with floral design, just like her tube dress, on both arms. These gloves turns to lavender with gold trim on the hands. The right wrist have a small beaded bracelet that's a separate piece. If you're not careful, you might loose this when swapping hands.
|
The sash |
She's wearing a sash on her waist. It got lots of patterns giving the impression that she used more than one fabric for her sash. The green buckle tied the sash together and there are bead accessories on the side. The bottom red part with purple tassels are part of the tube dress.
|
More sash |
The sash have untied parts one the right side and its color is consistent to the cape.
|
Knife sheath. It also looks like a horn. |
Terra also have a knife sheath on her right side it's metallic red with a yellow and lavender colored design (which I think part of the sash) wrapped around it and the tip is like gun metal gray.
|
Knife sheath with Terra's knife |
Terra's knife fits in perfectly in the sheath.
|
Terra's leggings |
Terra is wearing a white leggings with dark yellow colored printed design around it. It looks simple with very few wrinkles.
|
Nice pointy boots |
The design of Terra's heeled boots matches her dress and gloves because of the red color and floral designs. The shoelaces are silver and the toe/heel part and the boots' trimming are gold.
ACCESSORIES
Terra only came with two weapons, her sword and dagger. For extra hands, she got four.
|
Terra's stuff |
That's pretty standard amount of stuff. SQEX could have added some spell effects especially for her sword and dagger (interchangeable blades with fire, wind and ice effect) because Terra is a magic user.
|
Terra's sword and dagger. |
Her sword and dagger have this Yoshitaka Amano style when it comes to its appearance, well Amano designed Terra for FFVI and that must be the same with her sword. It looks really good and painted nicely.
|
The Enhancer |
Terra's sword is named Enhancer (based on the Dissidia Opera Omnia game) It looks great. I like the shiny metallic silver applied on the blade. Its grip and guard is metallic purple with silver linings and the rounded pommel is orange.
|
I don't know the name of the dagger.
I'll just call it Enhancer Mini. |
The dagger is like the baby sibling of Terra's sword because they both have the same design and colors applied. The hilt part of the knife is painted differently though. The guard is purple, the grip have metallic purple and metallic lavender color and the pommel is purple.
|
Extra hands |
The wide open left hand are for spell-casting and gestures. The gripping right hand are for holding the sword and dagger. Note that the gripping hand can't hold the sword well. And the pair of fists are for punching someone or any other gestures.
|
Display stand |
The display stand will prove useful for Terra PAK because she does a lot of hovering while casting spells and dodging. Even though I had difficulties and annoyances making Terra stand up on her own, I'm still not gonna use the display stand.
ARTICULATIONS
|
She's hopeful for the future |
Being a small and slender action figure, Some parts of Terra are highly poseable and some are limited by her design.
|
Talk to the hand and face my spell! |
She can look up and down very well and her head can fully rotate side to side and can tilt for a bit of an innocent attitude. The neck joint is pretty stiff making it difficult for the head to have more movement range.
|
Dagger ready |
The ponytail part of the hair is articulated by a ball-hinge which works well.
|
More spell-casting |
The chest articulation have great range on motion and doesn't reveal any huge gaps. Same for the waist and the sash hides the waist articulation making it seamless. The cape is in three parts and have large ball-hinges for articulation, which I don't like as I mentioned earlier, I prefer a cloth cape for this Terra PAK figure.
|
I think I saw this pose while viewing some of Amano's art |
Both arms have nice range of motion. The shoulders have ball-hinges for articulation. The biceps can swivel and they're hidden thanks to Terra's long gloves. The elbows and wrists have ball-hinges. As usual, they have nice range of motion and the parts can swivel on the ends of the ball-hinges too.
|
Ready to fire some spell |
The movement of the legs are limited because of the skirt even though it got cuts on the side to make the legs move. Terra in the picture above is on her widest stance... the widest that I can pull off on this figure.
|
Going for the offensive. |
Terra have ball-hinges for knees. They work as good as the double-hinged knees and they don't look bad too. The boots have ankle ball-hinges that makes the boots point up/down turn side to side and the pivot motion is barely noticeable. It's hard to make this Terra figure to stand up properly on her own.
I made few poses for Terra for this review because while she's fun to pose, she really requires a display stand for her poses.
SCALING
Now Terra is a short character so if she's shorter than most of the PAKs in my collection then that's fine. Still, let's compare her height so that we have an idea how tall or short she is.

QUALITY ISSUES
I only encountered one issue: the knife sheath got detached after my Terra figure flopped down while taking her photos for the review (forgot to take the photo). Luckily it's not broken, it's just one of those common/uncommon issues where a part of the figure have a weaker glue applied on it. I just glued it back carefully using a super glue.
CONCLUSION
The Play Arts Kai action figure of Terra is a nice figure. It's really presentable and have vibrant colors. It's a plus for me that she wears red and another plus because she's a character from my top 1 Final Fantasy game. It makes me happy to have this action figure. I really like it a lot but I can't ignore some stuff. She got standard amount of accessories (she needs some sort of magic effects). Most parts are highly poseable except for the legs. It's difficult to make her stand properly straight, without adjusting every articulation points on the legs. And the knife sheath fell off. I only recommend this figure for the fans of FFVI, Dissidia and Final Fantasy in general.
Here's a little something...
