TOYCON 2024 Part 1: The Toy Displays

Time to see what's inside the event. I hope to see something new and exciting.

The event is still not super crowded so it's easy to go in.

We took a quick view after getting in and decided to go to the right side first then to the left.

Oh a shirt shop, but I'm not interested on getting anime-themed shirts at the moment.

Good thing we decided to go right this is where the line for the free Funko Pop figures are located. So that's why there are few people in the lobby, they're all here!

Fortunately there are, I think, three to four lines. We didn't wait long in the line to get our Funko Pop figures.

This is a random distribution, so we don't know what Funko Pop figure we will get. My wife got Captain Boomerang from the first Suicide Squad movie. I guess that's lucky.

I got Lil' Gruesome from the Wacky Races by Hanna Barbera. I know the old 1968 cartoon series, if I remember correctly, he's the one that drives a car that looks like a house from Adam's Family. In my opinion, he's not that memorable.

After getting our free Funko Pop figures. We went out again to check out the display outside. We saw this Star Wars Speeder Bike display with a knocked out trooper and a shield bunker door background. You can ride this bike and take pictures while riding it.

Next is the Voltes Five display. Voltes Five is a really popular anime here in the Philippines and there's a live action show produced here. I'll say that the live action show is pretty good, got really great special effects and graphics. It also expanded Voltes Five's story a bit.

Here are some Voltes Five figures on display.

There's a grey prototype is a large scale figure but I don't know exactly what scale. Do they follow the scaling method of the Gunpla's?

The display also have a smaller scale figure. This one will look good on your desk.

Lastly, they got a painted larger scale figure holding its Laser Sword. These figures look great by the way.

We went back in and checked out this large Voltes Five robot, we saw this at the far back while we're on the line for the free Funko Pops. It's not a statue, but a balloon, I'm kinda disappointed. The last huge figure we saw at ToyCon 2019 is Batman and that is a huge statue.

Legendary Beast Studios is back with a new large scale figures on display. They got Marvel characters on display.

They also have DC characters on display too.

This bronze-like statue of Thor looks great.

Spider-man is looking good here.

Whoa, the details on this Hulk figure is amazing. He looks like the Hulk from MCU.

Captain America in his classic look is amazing.

They got another Thor on display, but this one is colored.

Cyclops in classic Jim Lee design is my favorite look for Cyclops.

Marneto is looking great here.

Wow, it's Superman doing a heroic pose.

This Wonder Woman looks great with a shield, spear and cape. Very warrior-like.

Another Superman figure, the hair on this one looks less fluffier than the first one on display. It also looks like a classic Superman.

Batman still looking intimidating, I like it.

Aww, Aquaman is still a greyscale prototype. He will probably look really cool like the rest on the display when painted.

Joker and Harley Quinn are also greyscaled. They remind me of the Joker and Harley from the Arkham games, specifically from the Batgirl DLC story for the Batman: Arkham Knight game.

This is the last toy display that we checked out and it's from Good Smile Company. So many Nendoroids and figma's on display here.

Well those are the major displays that we checked out. There are some more but we didn't get the chance to take photos because the event is getting crowded and it's getting difficult to take photos. Another thing is that I'm right, we are early. There are empty stalls and tables around the event. I guess some of the exhibitors are not here yet. And wherever we look, we saw Funko Pops... they're everywhere.

I got some random toy display photos. I'll put them on the next post.

Cheers!
