[Toy Review] HARLEY QUINN - The Suicide Squad (2021) McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse

Harley Quinn is one of my favorite female DC characters. She rivals Catwoman in top 1 and 2 of my top DC female characters list. That's why I have another McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse action figure of her. This Harley Quinn is from The Suicide Squad (2021) movie, portrayed once again by Margot Robbie.

"Recently, I made a promise for myself
that the next time I got a boyfriend I'd be on the look out for red flags.
And if I saw any, I would do the healthy thing
and I would murder him.
And killing kids? Kind of a red flag."
~ Harley Quinn ~

PACKAGING

Box: front

The box is windowed type. If you noticed, the box is missing some parts. That's right, King Shark's (CTB) parts got removed. But I got this action figure for a cheap price.

Box: back

The back shows a large photo of Harley Quinn. The Harley Quinn figure have King Shark's lower half (waist and legs).

Harley Quinn unboxed.

Packaging includes:
- Harley Quinn figure
- Javelin's javelin
- Harley Quinn trading card
- Display base

THE FIGURE

Viewing Harley

This Harley Quinn action figure looks really nice. She got a normal skin tone which is not accurate. Her skin should be white.

Yep, that looks like Margot Robbie.

The face looks pretty too. You can tell that it's Margot Robbie but as a Harley Quinn action figure. The face is painted really well. The small heart tattoo is printed well.

Twin tails

Her blonde hair looks nice but it got a small red/pinkish smudge. And the hair color is flat, no shadings. The twin tails are colored red on the right and black on the left.

Harley's red dress

This version of Harley is wearing a nice, but tattered red dress. They chose this look for the action figure and not Harley's normal look seen in the movie's intro. This is what she's wearing for the most part of the movie. This is her look in the conflict and climax part of the movie. The dress is really detailed but it lack some shadings to make those details more visible.

Back of the dress

The back of the dress looks nice as well, Half of Harley's back is exposed. Whoa, those mold marks look ugly! I didn't know there are buttons at the back of her dress, I thought it's tied by a lace.

Upper left chest tattoo

There a tattoo on the upper left area of her chest. The "Daddy's lil Monster" is readable.

Back tattoo

Harley's "Property of NO ON" tattoo is nicely printed on her back.

Right arm with tattoos

Harley's right arm looks good and have tattoos. The "J" tattoo is printed well while the red and back "diamonds" tattoo looks messy.

Left arm

Her left arm doesn't have any tattoo. Both arms have red ribbons tied on each bicep. The ribbon on the left arm is not painted well, the skin have a small red spot.

Lower part of the dress

The lower part of the dress is tattered. I really like the ruffles on the dress. This part should have some white parts for the white underdress underneath the red dress. I looked underneath the dress and I saw that her undies are red, instead of white. I guess I'm gonna do some modding on this part, I think it's easy enough for me to do it.

Harley's leggs

The left leg have some doodle-like tattoos. The "Pudding Cups", "jester" and "counting marks" tattoos are all clear and readable.

Combat boots

The boots looks nice but they're just black no dry brushing or shadings applied on this part.

Under the combat boots

The bottom of the boots are treaded and features peg holes for the display base.

ACCESSORIES

Sadly, Harley Quinn only have one accessory, and that's the javelin that she got from Javelin. She needs a couple of handguns or M16A2 carbines! I wish WB to get back on their senses and lift the "gun ban" for their action figures.

Javelin's javelin

The javelin looks really good but it looks shorter. It's super soft that it bends out of shape.

Closer look at the javelin

The javelin is really detailed but it's just gold colored, no other paint colors applied. I guess I'm gonna repaint this weapon.

Trading card and display base

Here's the trading card and the display base still sealed on the carboard blister pack. The image in the trading card is just the same as the one you see at the back of the box, just smaller.

ARTICULATIONS

Doing some nice pose.

Time to try the articulations and joints of this Harley Quinn action figure.

Holding the javelin.

The head have nice movement range. It can turn left/right, look up/down and lean side to side really well. It can also fully rotate.

Trying to make the javelin rest on her shoulders.

Both arms have nice range of motion too. They can fully rotate and raise to the side well. They got bicep swivel.

Using the javelin as a broom.

The elbows are double-hinged and have really good bending range. The wrists have ball-hinges and they also move well.

Cool pose

This Harley action figure have hidden torso articulation. The dress is soft and flexible, but it limit the torso's movement. It's difficult to make her turn left/right, lean side to side and do ab crunches.

Going to fight melee style.

The waist helps a bit when it comes to torso articulation even though it's limited by the lower part of the dress too. I tried to make this figure bend more forward and backward but the legs got detached from the waist joint. Good thing that it's easy to snap the legs back to the joint.

Running

The movement of both legs are also limited by the dress. The right leg have troubles going up to the side, while the left leg can go further up to the side a bit. It's impossible to make her do high kicks, splits and sitting position. The cuts on the lower part of the dress doesn't help improve both legs' motion

Going for a overhead javelin stab.

The knees are double hinged and it looks good when bent, pretty good movement range too.

She can't sit so she'll just stand, lean on the chair and chill.

Both feet have ratcheted ball-hinges for articulation. Their movement is good enough making the toes point up takes two clicks from normal position, same goes when pointing down. They can also swivel and pivot. Toe hinges are present for more posing options.

SCALING

Let's see how tall or short she is with the rest of the Suicide Squad in my collection.

Harley with Task Force X.

Harley Quinn is the shortest when compared with the boys: BloodsportPolka Dot Man and Peacemaker.

QUALITY ISSUES

This action figure of Harley Quinn doesn't have any major issues. I just accidentally removed the legs from the torso because I tried to force this figure to bend more on the waist. I just put it back and problem solved.

CONCLUSION

In my opinion, Harley Quinn's McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse action figure is the weakest in the set. I still like the figure because it looks really good (even better when she's with the other Suicide Squad figures) and I'm a Harley fan. Some of this figure's articulation is really limited because of the dress. It also got only one actual accessory and I wish she have some guns. If you're a Harley Quinn fan and like the movie then get this figure. It's cheap, even cheaper if the CTB parts are not included. I bought it online without the CTB parts.

Cheers and Happy Collecting!

MORE HARLEY!
