Boracay Honeymoon

After sorting our Boracay honeymoon/vacation photos, and there's so many of them, I can finally share some of them in this blog. Sadly there are some photos that are blurry and have poor quality. I selected the better ones to upload.

August 22, 2023. Our flight got delayed due to bad weather. There's a storm near the Philippines. But thankfully our flight is fast and smooth.

We can already see the islands from the plane. The flight only took around 45 minutes to reach Caticlan.

Around 9:00 AM, we arrived at Boracay Airport. From here, we rode a van to the port.

The boat ride only lasts for I think around 5 minutes to get to Boracay Island.

10:00 AM: We arrived and we took another ride to get to our hotel.

This is Astoria Hotel. This is not the hotel we're staying in to. We just got an invitation to check out the place.

This is the hotel's dining area. We get free lunch here. We spent a couple of hours here because our check-in time in our actual hotel is 12:00 PM.

The food here tastes great and so many to choose from. They got lots of seafood but I'm allergic, thankfully they got some beef and chicken dishes here.

I want to control my diet so I only took a few food to eat.

It's raining in Manila, but here, it's cloudy but the sun shines brightly.

We took a long nap in our room and went out in the evening. So many people here even though it's not peak season. There are so many restaurants and shops here.

We just ate dinner and had a stroll the whole night and went back to our room to sleep. Because the next day is where we going to do some island hopping.

It's morning, we got up early, ate our breakfast and we head to our first activity: island hopping. The weather is cloudier than yesterday, but it's okay, the wind and the waves are not strong enough to make us cancel our trip.

We got stamped and we hopped on our speedboat that will head to the first island.

The rain is getting stronger but that's okay. We arrived on the first Island. We rented these crystal kayaks to take some pictures. These kayaks lets you view what's under it when riding it in the sea. Many people rent these for their social media pics.

There's also a sand castle here. We got to take a picture of this quick before the coast patrol take down this castle. Because there's a specific time and place to make sand castles here.

We head to the next island where there's an underwater cave. We didn't do much here and didn't took a trip inside the cave, we just hanged out and took a quick swim. Here's my wife wearing a mermaid suit. She's a good swimmer, even better than me.

Our stay here is longer, around an hour or two. As we wait for our fellow tourists to come back from their underwater cave trip, we just sit and wait here.

By the way, this is our tour boat looks like. It's a fast boat. Our island hopping is cut short because of the weather and we are tired. So we went back to have dinner in one of the restaurants around Station 2 and then back to our hotel to get some rest. We will continue our trip the next day.

It's day 3 of our honeymoon. We went back to the port to continue our adventure. The weather is gloomy and rainy. The winds and waves are kinda strong, but we still went on our trip.

We tried to ride a jet ski. I wanted to try it but I was also afraid. But thankfully this jet ski is easy to operate and drive. Me and my wife took turns to drive the jet ski. It's fun and exhilarating to ride this fast vehicle.

After riding the jet ski. We went helmet diving. You see these helmets? They got a tube where the oxygen fills the helmets, making it possible to walk underwater while wearing this. We were briefed on how to breathe in the helmet and the crew teaches us hand signals before going underwater. It's my first time trying a pressurized gear so I got scared and panicked because of the air pressure inside the helmet. I almost went back to the boat but I tried to control my panic and slowed down my breathing and slowly I went under the sea with my wife. The view is great and there are lots of fishes swimming around us. We also did some fish feeding while we are there. I will post some underwater pics on the next blog post. Helmet diving is the last of our activities. It's time to go back to our hotel and rest.

This is our 4th day. This day is just to take a swim, walk on the beach and enjoy the food. We walked to reach this shrine of Mother Mary.

We went up and prayed in front of the shrine.

After visiting the shrine we went to swim again and took a few pictures. That's me doing some beach runs. The weather is cloudy again so we didn't get a very nice and romantic sunset.

The next coming day is our last day here in Boracay so we went out and buy some souvenirs for our co-workers.

We bought our co-workers some keychains with their names engraved on it. After buying souvenirs, we had our last dinner and went back to the hotel to pack our things for our hotel check-out and journey back to Manila.

By the way our flight back to Manila is a little scary. Because of the heavy rain and strong winds. This is the first time I've experienced turbulence. But thankfully, we got back home safe and sound.

Cheers!
