[Toy Review] SOMBRA - Overwatch Ultimates

She's a character that went under my radar because I lost interest in the game, Overwatch, for a short time. I heard that she's a hacker with the ability to hack other players, that's really cool. This character is Sombra and I got her Overwatch Ultimates action figure to review. I did a quick research on her and hey, some of her in-game quotes came from the 90's movie, Hackers. I like that 90's movie, it's really awesome.

"Everything can be hacked... and everyone."
~ Sombra ~

PACKAGING

Front and back of the box.

The packaging is windowed-type and the design is consistent with the rest of the Overwatch Ultimates packaging. You see the large artwork of Sombra that continues to the left side of the box. You can already view the action figure with its accessories through the viewing window. The back shows the same artwork with some info about the character.

Hacking time!
Packaging includes:
- Sombra figure
- Machine pistol
- Translocator
- Hacking effect (EMP)
- Left hacking hand
- Right posed hand

THE FIGURE

Again, this is a nicely designed character. But Sombra's design might limit some articulations. I think every part of this figure are new sculpts.

Looking at Sombra at four sides.
Sombra is a cyberpunk-themed hacker because of her clothes and color scheme that have purple, neon pink and neon blue. I checked the official artworks and in-game character model of Sombra and I can tell that some parts of this figure lacks paint and colors. I think it's easy to paint some of its parts.

A mugshot of a cyber-terrorist
That's a nice face sculpt of Sombra, it looks really nice, cute and really accurate to her in-game counterpart. The print on the face is kinda blurry though when you look closer. I also think her head is small.

Nice hair.
Sombra's sideswept dark brown hair looks really nice and it transitions to neon pink color at the end.

Does she have some chips inside her head?
The left side of her head is shaved with some patterns. She also have these pink circuit-like things with silver tips. Oh I didn't know she got an earring.

Cool circuit patterns.
The circuit pattern continues to the back of her head, giving the impression that Sombra is an augmented/technologically enhanced human.

Nice cyberpunk coat
Sombra is wearing what it seems like a futuristic trench coat. It looks really good, it's dark purple with some glossy silver parts on the upper parts like the collar. Undereath the coat, Sombra is also wearing a neon blue under coat. I really like the silver parts and the purple trims on the coat.

Sombra's back
The back of the coat looks consistent to the front. But Sombra got something on her back.

It looks like a spinal engine.
I don't know what that is but I'm guessing this thing gives Sombra her hacking powers.

Belt equipment thingamajigs.
Sombra have some weapon-like stuff on her waist. They're painted glossy silver.

Hacking arms and hands.
The arms looks nice. The elbow have a silver armor plating. The paint on this part is fine but it lacks that neon blue hue and black paint on the linings. The hands, while looks really good, also lack some colors.

Front and back of the legs.

The legs looks fine. Sombra is wearing a skin tight suit. The paint looks nice and have that transitioning color hue from neon pink to neon blue. It lacks some black paint on the linings.

Sombra's feet.
Sombra looks like she's not wearing any footwear. That's because the feet lack some paint/colors.

ACCESSORIES

Sombra have her standard equipment, the gun and translocator. She also got a couple of extra hands and a special effect for her hacking skill.

Sombra's gear
The accessory amount is fine for the price point and it got variety. But I like some more hacking effect variations for Sombra.

Machine Pistol
Sombra's Machine Pistol looks like a futuristic uzi. I looks cool and some parts are painted blue. It lack some paint details but that's fine.

Translocator
This is the Translocator. I guess this helps Sombra to escape when she's in danger. It looks cool but it's just black with a neon pink paint at the center.

Hacking effect front end.
This is the effect for Sombra's hacking skills. The end of the effect have a skull icon that looks like the icon for Sombra's EMP.

Hacking effect back end.
The other end of the effect have these hacking patters for detail. There are three tiny holes on it to fit the fingers of the extra hands.

Extra hands
These are Sombra's extra hands. She got an extra hacking hand and a right posed hand.

Left hand with the hacking effect.
The hacking left hand's three fingers can fit in the holes of the hacking effect.

ARTICULATIONS

Sombra, calm and collected.
The character design for Sombra, while it looks really nice, might limit or remove some articulation points on the figure. And Hasbro did something different on some joints.

"Oh yeah?" attitude.
The head and neck is a single piece. That means the head moves by the neck which have a ball peg. It's a hidden joint and it works just fine. But the collar is not soft enough for the head to move more.

"Hack the planet!"
The arms can fully rotate and can raise sidewards really well.

"Mess with the best, die like the rest"
No bicep swivel but they got elbow swivel. The elbows have a nice bend but the elbow plating looks weird when you pose the elbows.

My poor attempt at making this figure do one of Sombra's pose.
The hands can swivel and have a hinge for more hand movement.

Draw!
No chest articulation because of the trench coat, but I think it's possible to have that on this figure. It got waist swivel which is hard to move because of the coat.

She's about to throw her translocator.
The legs can move but the coat limits their movement. They can raise forward and go back a bit.

"Hackslinging"
Yeah, I just invented a word.
The legs can also raise sidewards just fine. Sombra can do some decent kicks. Both legs have a thigh swivel which are hidden because of the coat.

More gunning.
The double-hinged knees looks good and can bend really well.

Dodge hack.
The feet have a hinge that lets the feet point forward and back with decent range of motion.

Hack some more!
The feet also got a feet pivot, but it moves in an angle.

SCALING

I don't know how tall Sombra is in-game, so I don't know if her Overwatch Ultimates action figure's height is accurate with the rest of the OU figures.

Tracer, Sombra and Lucio.
Sombra is taller than Tracer and about the same height as Lucio if his legs are straightened.

QUALITY ISSUES

No broken/warped parts or missing pieces on this Sombra Overwatch Ultimates figure that I got. My only complaint is the lack of paint in some parts.

CONCLUSION

This Sombra Overwatch Ultimates figure by Hasbro is a solid addition to my growing collection of Overwatch characters even though it got some limitations in the articulations because of its character design. The figure is really presentable and it makes the collection look more colorful. The accessory count is pretty standard but have variety, which is nice. I recommend that you pick this one up especially if you want to complete the collection.

Cheers and Happy Collecting!
