One Punch Man is one of the modern manga/anime series that I like. Even though I like this anime, I missed out a lot on its merch. But I got this nice figure of Tatsumaki/Terrible Tornado, a small but powerful ESPer, the eldest of the Psychic Sisters and an S-class rank 2 in the Hero Association. This is a Banpresto Espresto-shapely figure. It's been a while since I reviewed a static figure.
"Unforgivable. Me, a brat?
I'm older than you!"

PACKAGING
Box front |
The box doesn't have any windows. It gives me the vibe that this one is meant to be a prize for crane arcade games. The front of the box shows a large partial image of the figure and the left hand side of it shows a smaller but full picture of the figure.
Box back |
The back shows a picture of the figure's back side. The side of the box shows a very partial image of the figure.
Tatsumaki unboxed |
Here's what inside the box. Not that much, just the Tatsumaki figure...
Display base |
...and the black round display base.
Packaging includes:
- Tatsumaki figure
- Tatsumaki figure
- Round display base
THE FIGURE
Figure front view |
The figure looks really good and kinda tall.
Figure back view |
Looks like this figure is around 1/7 to 1/8 scale. The figure's actual height is about 8 inches.
Figure left view |
I forgot to mention that One Punch Man figures are kinda few especially characters like Tatsumaki and other heroes and villains. The previous Tatsumaki figures that I know is a 1/8 scale static figure by Freeing and the other one is a Nendoroid figure. Those two are pretty rare now.
Figure right view |
This figure is pretty much common and cheaper but the details and paintwork of the figure are pretty good.
Her powers matches her sassiness and confidence |
The face looks great. I like Tatsumaki's confident smile. The face is painted really well but no shadings are present.
Her hair is green and curly |
Her green curly hair is sculpted pretty well. Again, no shadings on the paintjob.
Tatsumaki's black one-piece dress |
She's wearing a black one piece collared dress. It's skin tight on the torso. It shows the curviness of the figure. The sleeves look good, they got some wrinkles for detail. The dress also have some bluish hues around it. The downside is that it got an obvious cut on the waist area, ruining the consistency of the dress.
Tatsumaki's back up close. |
The back doesn't have much, but it's detailed with wrinkles.
Long flowing dress |
The dress is long. The lower part of the dress is made of soft plastic and it's flowing to the back. Giving an impression that Tatsumaki is floating.
She got really long legs. |
The lower part of the dress have slits, showing Tatsumaki's really long legs. The legs looks good but no shadings. In case you're wondering... no you can't peek under this figure's dress, so what kind of undies she's wearing is a mystery.
And she got very tiny feet. |
She's wearing a simple pair of black heeled shoes.
Here's some more pictures of the Espresto Tatsumaki figure.
Her pose gives an impression that Tatsumaki is casually floating.
She may be small in the manga/anime but she is an adult and she got immense amount of power.
In my opinion, this Tatsumaki figure looks good anywhere when displayed.
I just wish her display base is transparent and higher so that it looks like she's really floating and not tip-toeing on one foot when displayed.
SCALING
Time to compare this Tatsumaki figure with another Espresto figure.
Psychic Sisters |
The scaling is off when Tatsumaki is with her younger sister, Fubuki. I expect Fubuki to be more taller.
QUALITY ISSUES
No major problem found on the figure. The paintwork is great. My only gripe is that the peg on the feet is not entirely inserted in the display base, making the figure tilt off-angle a little bit.
CONCLUSION
The Banpresto Espresto Tatsumaki figure looks great. This figure is really presentable when displayed and I like Tatsumaki's pose. I highly recommend this because for its size and details, this figure is really cheap. I got this online for around $10.00 (approx. Php.700.00) or lower. If you plan on getting this Tatsumaki figure, I suggest that you also get her sister, Fubuki. It's not complete if these two are not together.
Here's a quick photo edit I made for this figure.
Based on the Alien Invation arc.
Cheers and Happy Collecting!
