Square-Enix's Variant series of action figures now transitioned from Play Arts Kai to Bring Arts. The first batch of Variant Bring Arts figures are from Marvel and they're designed by Tetsuya Nomura (you can't miss his name on some SQEX games). Now here's my initial thoughts on Nomura's take on Captain America.
It looks good, but his head is small and he got big shoulders. I guess this is an armored-up version of the Captain.
Nomura's design looks similar to Hitoshi Kondo's Captain America Variant PAK, but more tamed while having sharp angles in the design. I'll say, he got big hands, and with a small head, this make Nomura's Cap look cartoonish.
This figure looks highly poseable, even though it's really bulky and having those extra black pouches.
This Bring Arts Captain America comes with two shields, (why two? I don't know). He also got some shield grip accessories... lots of them. And a total of seven extra hands.
This action figure costs $134.99 (nearly Php.7,000.00). That's Play Arts Kai price! That means that this is a quick pass for me. That's way expensive for a 1/12 scale action figure but I guess some people will like and buy this Variant Captain America.
